About Blackburn and District Blind Society

Blackburn and District Blind Society is a registered charity number 519938.  The charity was established in Blackburn in 1881.  We are a local society providing services that support people in the community who are partially sighted, blind and may often have other disabilities.  It continues to support people from many districts across Lancashire who have a sight loss.

Sheila is the society’s qualified Rehabilitation Officer for Vision Impairment (ROVI). Sheila runs the Vision Loss Support (VLS) part of the society’s operations and is pictured here with The Worshipful, the Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen, Councillor Karimeh Foster.
